Minimum Eligibility Criteria

To receive a grant from the Rotary Club of Clover, the applicant must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  1. Charitable - Grants must be used for a charitable purpose by an organization that is philanthropic in nature or provides a public service
  2. Grants are not given for religious or political viewpoints. The Rotary Club must see a specific community benefit or end result of project activities.
  3. Local - Grants must be used within the Clover Community as defined by the boundaries of the Clover School District.
  4. Involvement and Recognition for Rotary Club of Clover - the applicant must agree to publicize or acknowledge the contribution in a way that promotes community awareness of the Rotary Club of Clover.  Involvement of Rotary Club members is required.


Community Grant Objectives

To receive a grant from the Rotary Club of Clover, the applicant must meet ALL of the following criteria:

The Club desires to fund projects that will provide a long-term benefit and support the areas of focus (see below). Priority will be given for requests that: 

  • serve a large number of people;
  • is not essentially a passthrough to another organization; and
  • are tangible or capital items (e.g., materials, equipment, furniture, appliances, building improvements). 

Personnel costs may only be up to 25% of the project cost. General operating or maintenance expenses will not be funded. The Clover Rotary Club has its own scholarship program; therefore, grants will not be awarded for scholarships to educational institutions.

Grant Focus Areas

The Rotary Club of Clover has identified the following focus areas for grant funding:

  • Youth
  • Education
  • Seniors
  • Literacy
  • Environment
  • Community Benefit

Application Instructions

  1. Please be concise and specific in describing your project, its activities and how the funds will be used.
  2. No application attachments will be accepted. We will contact you if additional information is needed.
  3. Explain how the funds will be used to benefit our local community and achieve the project's end result.
  4. Rotary must be involved in the project and be recognized for its contribution to your organization. This can be done through members assisting with the project, media releases, placing the Rotary Club name or logo on printed materials, etc.
  5. Applying to other sources in no way negatively impacts your application. Our Club appreciates combining funding sources to achieve greater results.
  6. You may apply for more than one project, but each project requires a separate application.
  7. We will not accept applications for projects, activities, or purchases that have already taken place.
  8. Grant funds must be expended by June 30 of the year after the award.

Application Review Process

  1. Applications are typically accepted between January 1 and March 31 each year.
  2. The Board will review all applications and make a recommendation to the Club by April 16. Approved project(s) will be forwarded to Rotary’s District Grant for grant approval by April 30. Grant awards are typically approved by July. Approval of the grant by the Rotary Club of Clover does not guarantee approval by the District.
  3. If awarded, funds will not be available until after August 15.
  4. A representative from your organization will be invited to a Rotary Club meeting to accept the Grant.
